Post Study Work Visa

STEM Graduated

  • The STEM OPT (Optional Practical Training) visa allows STEM graduates to work in the U.S. for up to 3 years post-graduation.
  • They can apply for a 24-month extension, provided they are employed by a company enrolled in the E-Verify program.

Non-STEM Graduates

  • Non-STEM graduates are eligible for a 12-month OPT post-completion of their studies.
  • After the 12 months, they will need to explore other visa options, like the H-1B or an employer-sponsored visa.
